Access Sketch Constraints Faster in Inventor 2013

Cut mouse travel and design time by mastering the Inventor 2013's marking menu.

Mouse travel, we do a lot of it. We can probably measure our mouse travel in miles per day if we really wanted to. One of the most common tracks of road our mouse takes is to the Constrain Panel in the Sketch Tab to create the constraints that do not get inferred while sketching such as Colinear and Equal. Even the traditional right click method still has a bit of a walk to perform to get to these constraint types.

Is there any way to get their faster short of assigning hotkeys? Yes, there is. One of the nicest enhancements for me in Inventor 2013 has been the CTRL+Right Click options for the Marking Menu. When inside a sketch you can hold down CTRL and then Right Click and you will get all your Sketch Constraints right at your mouse focal point.

What’s more, you can customize the ones you see in the radial menu by going into the Customize area of the software.

I typically don’t use Concentric for anything so I replaced it with Colinear.
