Beckhoff’s “Automation UpDate” Seminar a North American Hit

Toronto stop proves most successful, drawing 61 local attendees.

Beckhoff Automation said that the North American debut of its “Automation UpDate” seminar series was a resounding success. Of the tour’s four stops (Anaheim, San Jose, Milwaukee and Toronto) organizers said Toronto was the most popular with 61 present and prospective customers in attendance.

The seminars featured technical presentations from six primary product developers and export managers from Beckhoff as well as from local machine builders who successfully use automation and controls technology from the automation company.

Topics covered at the event included presentations on the latest developments of EtherCAT and TwinCAT (pdf); using open motion control technology; CX Embedded PCs; embedded PC benchmarking and performance; visualization solutions; embedded software; and using Intel Core Duo processors in hardware platforms.

Guest speakers included Chris Choi’s (Husky Injection Molding Systems) presentation "The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Control Automation Technology" (pdf) and Alex Kvyatkovski (Accurpress) from, as well as reps from Belco Packaging Systems, MarquipWardUnited and Messer Cutting Systems.

Due to the series popularity, the company says it plans to re-launch Automation UpDate in other major US and Canada cities in the in the near future.
