Both threaded and unthreaded fasteners can be temporarily held in place during transport, fabrication or assembly with the patented NYSTAY locating patch from Nylok Corp.
The polymer – pre-applied 360° around the fastener – is soft enough to allow hand-assembly and allows manufacturers to pre-install certain components. The non-toxic patch is replaces old methods of using plastic washers to hold solid rivets and is said to provide a dramatic increase in productivity while reducing assembly labor costs. The patch also can be located at any point on the fastener length and provides a solution for robotic riveting type production.
