Festo planar gantry expands electric automation business

The compact, electro-mechanical drive is a ready-to-run handling system with two servo drives and a controller that comes fully assembled, the company says.

It is suitable for desktop applications such as dispensing, screwing in, bonding, testing as well as simple pick-and-place tasks.

Also new is the cost-optimized CMMO-ST closed loop servo controller that can serve as a positioning controller for stepper motors or for managing Festo’s expanded EPCO electric cylinder family.

Like the EXCM, the CMMO-ST can be ordered as complete package – drive, motor, controller and cables – with a single part number and configured using any web connection.
