Lee Spring introduces Bantam Mini Compression Springs, adds smaller diameters to their REDUX Wave Spring line and expands their stock compression spring offering in wire sizes from .006” to .013”.

These products start at wire diameter .004”, just slightly thicker than a human hair, and range up to .0055” in standard outside diameters .025”, .040” and .057”. In order to meet and maximize the performance needs of a potentially diverse range of applications, Lee Spring selected Elgiloy as the alloy for Stock BANTAM Springs.

Elgiloy is a cobalt-nickel alloy known for its high strength, e.g. 10% stronger than Type 316
Stainless Steel. It exhibits superior resistance in most corrosive environments including acetic acid, ammonium chloride, citric acid, sodium chloride and sodium sulfite. This material performs well in temperatures up to 850° F. Elgiloy is non-magnetic. Applications include medical devices, pharmaceutical delivery devices, petro-chemical processes, aerospace and marine industries. .

As assemblies get smaller, the demand has grown for smaller REDUX Stainless Steel Wave Springs. Lee’s REDUX line now includes designs to fit 1/4” and 5/16” hole diameters as well as
additional designs in the 1/2”, 9/16” and 5/8” ranges.

Lee’s range of “Instrument” Series Stock Compression Springs continues to grow with even
more designs in wire sizes from .006 through .013”. The 1100+ products in this series are offered in a choice of three materials: Music Wire, Type 302 Stainless and Type 316 Stainless Steel.
