Festo's DHAS gripper fingers come in three sizes: 60 mm, 80 mm and 120 mm and adapt to the work piece contour with tweezer-like yet safe gripping.

Festo DHAS Adaptive Gripper FestoFesto’s new DHAS adaptive gripper fingers optimizes automated small piece handling functions that can benefit from their unique, soft touch. The economical DHAS improves the efficiency and reliability of handling odd or variable shapes or delicate objects in pick-and-place automation. These blue-coloured, FDA-listed, polyurethane fingers adapt to the work piece contour with tweezer-like yet safe gripping. The moving elements combine the principles of positive and friction-based gripping, while simultaneously providing a large contact area for contoured surfaces. These fingers, the outcome of a Festo bionics project to develop advanced products by mimicking nature, employ the Fin Ray Effect based on the physiology of fish tails. DHAS gripper fingers come in three sizes (60 mm, 80 mm and 120 mm). They can be direct-mounted individually, but to make the most of their capabilities, they are best installed on Festo’s HGPL-B long stroke gripper using available mounting kits.
