HARTING launched its Han Ex industrial connector portfolio for explosion proof applications with a series of five size 3A sets, each comprised of a hood, housing and high pin count insert. This first Han Ex rollout is for use exclusively in intrinsically safe circuits of categories “ia”, “ib” and “ic” of explosion protection method “Ex i”, and is suitable for Zones 0, 1 and 2 for gas and Zones 20, 21 and 22 for dust.
The “Ex i” protection method assures intrinsically safe electrical circuitry that is limited for maximum voltage, current, capacity and inductance. HARTING’s Han Ex sets are available with 4, 7, 8 or 12 contacts. There are three variants with crimp termination and two with HARTING’s proprietary Han-Quick Lock termination technology. Other variants are available on request.
