Yaskawa America, Inc. introduced its SigmaLogic7 Compact, a servo amplifier that makes it possible to add a Sigma-7 servo system in machines using Rockwell Automation programmable logic controllers. Incorporating Add On Instructions (AOIs) for the Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix family of programmable logic controllers, the SigmaLogic7 allows for instructions, programmed using RSLogix5000 (v17 and above), to be sent directly from a PLC to SigmaLogic7 Compact. In addition, SigmaLogic7 Compact carries all the features of a Sigma-7 amplifier in a smaller package. The unites also delivers 3.1 kHz bandwidth for improved settling time. In addition, tuning accuracy is maintained despite inertia changes up to 30:1 and the system automatically compensates for interruptions from electrical interference.
