Servo-pneumatic drives

Staff

General DPN

As an alternative to standard pneumatic and electrical drives, servo-pneumatics are said to allow for speed and position controlled motion at pneumatic cylinders, as well as for accurate, dynamic positioning. One example is a pneumatic cylinder with integrated displacement encoder, one proportional valve in place of the on-off valve and an SPC200 positioning controller from Festo.

Servo-pneumatics permits accuracies of 0.2 mm with typical strokes of 100 to 200 mm.
