Zamac-constructed illuminated keypads

EAO has announced the S.series keypad constructed from Zamac. The keypads are suitable for security and access control applications, particularly within unsupervised areas. Products within the S.series range include 12 or 16 key keypads with a choice of telephone or hexadecimal II configurations.
Customization can include ‘halo’ illumination, a style that presents the illumination around the character on each key in a range or combination of colors. A library of more than 20 different illuminated key characters is available. EAO also includes a character-design service if special markings are required as well as laser engraving facilities for non-illuminated keypads (subject to minimum order quantities).
S.series keypads are said to offer high-tactile feedback to provide a reassuring feel for the user. Sealed to IP67 standards against water, dust, and with their resistant to heat, shock and vibration, the units require minimal maintenance. The series is tested for lifetime quality of up to 4 million operations, certified according to the latest international standards, and is RoHS compliant.
