Creaform MaxSHOT 3D optical measurement system ups the speed and accuracy of photogrammetry.

Lévis, Quebec-based Creaform introduced its MaxSHOT 3D optical coordinate measuring system, which combines the company’s MaxSHOT 3D photogrammetric video camera with its VXshot processing software. The system features real-time visualization and validation of acquired data along with guided step-by-step operation helps those new to photogrammetry generate a high accuracy-positioning model of an object, the company says.

The MaxSHOT 3D can be used in conjunction with Creaform’s Handyscan, MetraSCAN or HandyPROBE to shorten measuring time on larger parts, accelerate positioning of the device around the part and increase measurement accuracy. The device attains volumetric accuracy down to 0.0003 in./ft (0.025 mm/m).

The MaxSHOT 3D will be introduced to the public on September 19th at EMO metalworking tradeshow in Hannover, Germany and on September 20th at Quality Expo in Chicago.
