OTTAWA — The Vancouver Sun reports that a Canadian entrepreneur, Andrew Day, has made a last minute bid for Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL). According to the article, the former aviation-industry executive is interested in developing the crown corporation’s “new build” business. SNC-Lavalin and Bruce Power, the two other AECL bidders, are believed to interested primarily in the engineering-services component.
According to the Sun article, a preferred bidder may be chosen in January and a deal reached as soon as the first quarter of 2011.
