Trois-Rivieres,QC-based robotic equipment firm, AGT Robotics, and portable 3D scanner maker, Creaform, this week launched the ScanMaster, a turnkey 3D scanning robot for automated quality control applications. Powered by Creaform’s MetraSCAN 3D R-Series optical scanning system, AGT’s ScanMaster robot cell performs dimensional metrology of complex parts of up to 1 m3 for both on-line and off-line inspections.
According to Creaform, its TRUaccuracy technology provides accuracy of up to 0.085mm in shop-floor conditions, regardless of instability, vibrations and thermal variations. The accuracy of dimensional measurements is determined by the optical CMM scanner and is independent from the robot. The company also says the ScanMaster has a short learning curve and is compatible with all major metrology software.
