Selecting the correct material for a build project is half the battle.

Whether you’re looking at a short-run additive manufacturing project or do a couple of rapid prototyping one-offs, choosing an optimal 3D printing technology is fairly straightforward. But, given the wide selection of materials available, picking the right build material can be taunting.

On its web site, Canadian RP service bureau Proto3000 features a comprehensive list of available 3D printing processes – including Polyjet, FDM, SLS and SLA – the materials available for each. More importantly, the company provides best-case applications as well as detailed material property sheets. Check out the material guide on Proto3000’s website.
