AutomationDirect has added NEMA-rated Stratus air conditioners for enclosures to stop the nuisances and decreases in life expectancy in controlling units “such as PLCs, HMI, and AC drives.”

Their closed-loop cooling systems are “recommended for harsh environments, or when there are washdown requirements, heavy dust and debris, or airbone chemicals present.” They are available in 120V and 230V units and in three NEMA model types. The NEMA 12 and 4 models are constructed of 16-gauge cold rolled steel and the NEMA 4X is made of 16-gauge stainless steel. They all contain a condensate management system, protective-coated condenser coils, and a Stratus 1,000 to 8,000 BTU/H air conditioner.

All three models are designed to fit enclosures as shallow as 12 inches and feature a digital LED temperature controller with visible alarm and pre-wired for external alarm monitoring. They are CFC-free and are UL and cUL listed. They start at $1,099. Replacement filters at $24.
