DS DraftSight Beta available for Linux
Beta brings 2D DWG creation/editing to popular Linux distributions.
Vélizy-Villacoublay, France – Following on its announcement last month that DraftSight for Windows had left Beta, Dassault Systèmes today announced a Linux beta release for the no-cost 2D CAD product. As with the Windows and Mac OSX releases, DraftSight for Linux allows users to create, edit and view DWG files.
The download is available as either a .deb file (compatible with 32bit Ubuntu 9.10 Gnome or higher versions) or an .rpm package compatible with 32bit Fedora 14 Gnome, Suse 11.2 Gnome, Mandriva 2010 Gnome and KDE, or higher versions). The company says DraftSight for other Linux flavours are in progress.
