Danfoss North America Motion Controls has introduced the Advanced Harmonic Filter (AHF) series 005 designed to reduce total harmonic current distortion (THiD) to <5% that is said to provide performance similar to that of an 18-pulse drive.
The filters also suppress THvD to lower levels than is otherwise achievable with 18-pulse drives, which simply transfer the harmonics to a higher frequency. The AHF Series 010 is said to provide superior performance when compared with a 12-pulse drive, while reducing THiD to <10%.
