Inventor Fusion Tech Preview Updated

Autodesk announced the third revision of its Inventor Fusion tech demo. Originally only available in North America, the lastest version is now available worldwide.

Inventor Fusion is the company’s take on the trend toward melding parametric and direct modeling techniques, will be available for download starting tomorrow. Fusion has the potential to be unique among hybrid modelers in that Autodesk is billing the technology as bidirectional, which would allow designers to start with a quick push/pull rough out of a model and then see those changes updated in a parametric feature tree.

With the update, Fusion becomes compatible with Inventor 2008 through 2011. In addition, the Change Manager add-in for Autodesk Inventor is included in the download. However, users will need Inventor 2011 in order to use the add-in. Also, the new version interoperates with Algor Simulation 2011.

The Tech Preview update is set to expire on April 1, 2012.
