Modular vacuum gripper system SSP
The modular vacuum gripper system SSP from Schmalz consists of coordinated and compatible gripper elements, large-area gripper connections, sensor units, filters and valves as well as vacuum generators. The components and assemblies are said to ensure a quick, cost-effective design.

Festo has announced the Copar drive (compact pneumatic rotary drive) Type DRD (double-acting) and DRE (single-acting), an optimized 90° rotary actuator. Its main features are the Namur interface and the interface for assembly of a process valve. The interface to VDI/VDE 3845, for assembly of a valve on the side of the drive, permits direct mounting of a Namur valve and facilitates the mounting of limit switches, limit switch boxes, positioners and customary actuators.
LOW FRICTION COUNTERBALANCE
Airpot Corp. has announced a long length (up to 1 m) Airpel Anti-Stiction actuator. The actuator is said to meet the needs of coordinate measuring machine and other metrology device manufacturers for a low friction counterbalance device to allow smooth movement and precise positioning of the z-axis measuring arm while manipulating the device through its measurement range. Airpel Anti-Stiction cylinders use a simple pneumatic cylinder with an internal design that is said to allow for virtually zero friction, while precisely controlling the amount of counter force needed to eliminate the effect of driver and probe arm mass.

PRESSURE SWITCHES AND TRANSMITTERS
AutomationDirect has added ProSense pressure switches and transmitters to its sensor products. ProSense pressure sensors are designed to monitor system pressure in hydraulic and pneumatic applications, while the vacuum sensors provide a display of increases and decreases in vacuum systems. The sensors are said to be smaller and easier to install than traditional mechanical pressure switches. Units employ capacitive sensing technology and strain gauge technology.

OXYGEN CLEAN SERIES MANIFOLDS
Single and multi-station manifolds are available for use with Clippard Instrument Laboratory Oxygen Clean series electronic valves. The manifolds offer either single- or double-sided mounting in oxygen-compatible electroless nickel plated brass material, and feature 1/8 in. NPT input ports and #10-32 outlets.

Handheld and fixtured units handle torques up to 50 Nm and a dual durometer polycast bowl minimizes fastener wear and noise. “Any tool” technology is said to allow the use with virtually any pneumatic and dc electric screwdriver. An advanced design maintains feeds while driving and permits bit replacement without the use of tools.

AIR CONTROL VALVE FOR EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS
The Pneumatic Division of Parker Hannifin has introduced a IP65-rated industrial in-line valve series specifically designed for use in operating conditions of -40° to 70°C, with a maximum pressure of 16 bar.
INJECTED METAL ASSEMBLY PROCESS
The capacity of the FisherTech Injected Metal Assembly process has been increased 10-fold with the launch of the AM 51 system. A maximum shot volume of up to 500 g is said to allow for forming and joining of much larger component assemblies and end terminations. New design features, such as a stationary operating head, shot control and a two-stage melt pot, provide options for advanced automation up to full robotic operation.

The series incorporates a low friction, dry running sliding bearing carriage said to provide long, reliable travel life – even at 100% duty cycle. Coupled with Parker motors/controls, the series of linear actuators is also said to offer a fully programmable, high-performance solution at a competitive cost, while reducing space requirements.
COLLECT & CONVEY SYSTEM COLLECTS AND RETURNS DUST SAFELY
Automated C&C dust collect and convey system from Cyclonaire captures nuisance dust from silo filling operations and automatically sends it back to the source silo. Each unit mates an efficient pulse jet dust collector with a dense phase pneumatic conveyor and has onboard controls for automatic operation with no need to empty dust from the hopper. The system can be used to collect any dust.

The Exlar Tritex series of electric actuators from Exlar Corp. combine a brushless servo motor, servo amplifier and position controller to eliminate the external servo amplifier and the cables associated with a typical servo system. Tritex actuators with built-in mechanical converters replace electric drive systems employing ball screw or gear reducer mechanisms. Up to 500 W of continuous power can be applied to the actuator’s brushless servo motor with strokes of 3 to 18 in. available. The standard product is rated IP54 with an optional IP65 rating available.
