Aircraft engine maker chooses ENOVIA application after benchmark.

Montreal & Velizy-Villacoublay Dassault Systèmes announced that Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), has selected started “Phase One” of implementing Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform to run its enterprise integrated product management process.

“Every second, a P&WC-powered airplane takes off or lands somewhere in the world and our goal is to ensure the highest quality, best service cost, and overall product value for those customers,” said Walter Di Bartolomeo, Vice President, Productivity & Engineering, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “ENOVIA applications give us the ability to be more effective. And that gives us the capacity, capability and affordability to go and reinvest in new products and new services.”

According to Dassault Systèmes, P&WC benchmarked 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its associated ENOVIA applications against various other solutions and competitors. The enterprise platform and its openness to Pratt & Whitney Canada’s existing SAP and Microsoft Dynamics, featured highly in the final decision, as well as Pratt & Whitney Canada’s working partnership with Dassault Systèmes.

In parallel with Phase One, P&WC has been working to define a blueprint for the next phase of PLM in a true enterprise-wide business transformation.
