Absolute Linear Encoder

HEIDENHAIN announced that its LC 200 linear encoder is now available with a Fanuc interface and features system accuracy of ±5 µm. An absolute type encoder, the LC 200 measures lengths of up to 28 meters and ensures the absolute position value is available immediately upon switch on. In addition, the unit has a smaller scanning unit with increased rigidity in measuring direction.

According to the company, the LC 200 is assembled on a machine from individual components. The housing sections feature an improved mounting and sealing technology. An integrated seal on the face and a tongue and groove system make it possible to slide the housing sections together easily. Large mounting tolerances facilitate easy assembly of the entire system, the company says.
