Beckhoff Automation released its EP7402 EtherCAT Box to enhance control and cabling efficiency for motor-driven roller (MDR) conveyor systems. The controller is a two-channel motor output stage for BLDC motors and features zero-pressure accumulation (ZPA) logic in its firmware, programming in the TwinCAT 3 and EtherCAT communication. Measuring 174mm x 60mm x 36.5mm, IP67 rated controller mounts in standard C-channel or L-brackets and features One Cable Automation (OCA) via two B23 ENP hybrid connectors. It also has multiple M8 sockets to support two MDRs per device and digital I/O for peripheral sensors, vision systems or junctions to EtherCAT Box modules.
