Automation Machine BuildingB&R’s latest display transmission tech, SDL4, allows 100-meter cable spans and up to 4 HMIs per PC.
B&R introduced the fourth generation of its display transmission technology, Smart Display Link (SDL). Based on HDBaseT 2.0, SDL4 allows for cable spans up to 100 meters between PC and display using standard Ethernet cables and RJ45 connectors. In addition, the HMI interface converter allows up to three panels to be connected to one Industrial PC. A fourth panel displaying different content can also be operated via an additional SDL4 interface. SDL4 is OS and software independent, integrating all communication channels – including USB, touch screen and function keys – in one cable. SDL4 transmits all signals uncompressed and in high resolution for optimum image quality, the company says.
