Balluf’s RS232-to-IO-Link interface simplifies the integration of serial communication devices in a traditional automation arena.

RS232

Balluf released its RS232-to-IO-Link interface, which simplifies the integration of serial communication devices and supplies bi-directional communication to a variety of serial devices on the plant floor. Working in tandem with the IO-Link master, the RS232 flows power for the attached serial device through this connector, eliminating the need for separate power connection. Encased in a stainless steel housing, the RS232 utilizes an IP67 ingress protection rating and M18-barrel-style inline design. The barrel design ensures the RS232 converter can be placed very close to the point of use and then utilize standard 3- or 4-pole sensor cable from this interface module to the IO-Link master.
