Schmersal has developed light curtains and grids that are sealed in 60mm clear plastic that qualify for the IP69K rating, which means they can withstand high temp/high pressure washdowns. Schmersal’s SLC 420 can be used for point of operation, danger zone, and perimeter guarding applications in these types of environments.
The Category Type 4 design features a rigid body, which reduces the chances of misalignments from bending or pressure. The device has integrated blanking, restart, and EDM feedback. They are suitable for environments that are hygiene sensitive such as food processing, food packing and medical industries.
