Teledyne’s CP275D non-destructive x-ray generator penetrates up to 60mm of steel.

Teledyne has announced the CP275D, a non-destructive portable generator capable of penetrating up to 60mm of steel with a voltage output range from 20 to 275kV. Weighing 23kg, it’s the lightest x-ray capable of producing such power, the company says. As part of the company’s CPSeries, the CP275D features a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window, an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms. Overall, Tyledyne’s SITEX CPSERIES generators are capable of penetrating from 42mm to 70 mm of steel with an input power range from 90 to 264VAC, allowing them to operate on nearly any grid in the world.
