Torque Transducers

General HBM senser

HBM T40B and T40FM transducers measure torque and speed at the same time.

HBM, Inc. introduced its T40B and T40FM torque transducers that integrate both magnetic technology and a speed measurement sensor, allowing it to measure both torque and speed (rpm) at the same time. The T40 torque transducer measures speed with a 1024 pulse output, compared to the 60 or 360 pulses of traditional optical systems.

An optional reference pulse signal is generated by a separate sensor that senses the corresponding magnetic field in the axial direction. The system can thus provide the signals to integrate the rotational speed and the angle of rotation in the control loop of downstream equipment such as a data acquisition system (DAQ). Torque measuring ranges up to 80,000 Newton-meters The transcuders also feature up to 0.03% of full scale linearity and hysteresis combined and standard response times of 1000, 3000, 6000 and 10,000 Hz options.
