Festo has developed the VTUG plug-in as a compact, easy to configure, low-cost extension to its standard valve terminal portfolio. The VTUG is an aluminum sub-base terminal, which can accommodate 4- 24 valve positions in a fixed grid, saving significant amounts of wiring time and control cabinet space. It’s a multi-pin terminal with a choice of D-Sub, and ribbon cable interface, whichever best suits the application. For network communications, Festo offers an innovative I/O link connection to connect to any higher level I/O link master. The terminal can be configured for a Fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network merely by attaching the appropriate module to the unit’s I/O link port. The VTUG comes in three sizes – 10, 14 and 18 mm, with an air flow rate of up to 1200 l/min – and a wide choice of variants. The new size 18 is ideal for obtaining short cycle times with high volume cylinder strokes. The VTUG can be configured with sub-base or in-line valves, and for protection classes IP40, IP65 or IP67.
