Spyraflo has introduced an aluminum pillow block and housing flange self-aligning bearing solution designed specifically for washdown applications. The component uses stainless steel housed self-aligning Delrin bearings and are treated by an electroless nickel plating process. The Delrin bearing material is suited for applications requiring rotary, oscillating and linear motion. The Delrin ±5º self-aligning bearing comes in shaft diameters from 1/4-inch to 3/4-inch or 6mm to 20mm. Both the pillow blocks and housing flanges meet all FDA materials requirements. In addition to the food, dairy and pharmaceutical markets, the new bearings are a perfect match for fresh and salt water marine applications aboard both large and small boats, as well as in shore-based outside applications where corrosion resistance is paramount to bearing life.
