Fenner Precision has announced the Fenner High Torque (FHT) Class of synchronous belts made of polyurethane. The materials is said to offer several advantages over traditional materials, including a cleaner tooth profile, different grades for higher COF and temperatures, and tensile strengths exceeding 1000 lb.

The polyurethane belts are available in various sizes and pitches including 1, 2, 3 and 5 mm. The belts have a curvilinear tooth profile as opposed to the traditional trapezoidal profile to provide more surface contact with the pulley and more uniformly distributed stress concentration.
