U.S. Solidworks VAR expands into Canada

Oakland, CA – Consolidation in the CAD reseller space continues as California-based Solidworks reseller Hawk Ridge Systems announced that it has acquired Canadian VAR Next Level Engineering Services. With 14 offices throughout the west coast states and provinces including California, Oregon, Washington and now British Columbia and Alberta, Hawk Ridge is recognized as a leading Solidworks reseller. The company was named as the Top Reseller at SolidWorks World 2011 and employs the largest team of dedicated Certified SolidWorks Engineers (45) in North America, the company says.

This latest acquisition is the latest major deal in the Canadain VAR channel, following on last year’s mega merger of Rand Worldwide, Inc. and Avatech Solutions, Inc. making IMAGINiT Technologies the world’s largest reseller with 40 offices throughout North America and Asia Pacific.

More recently, Toronto-based SolidCAD acquired the Autodesk business of CAD MicroSolutions Inc., establishing the new entity as a major force in Ontario.
