Wipro's Tarang Lab to expedite product development for international markets.

Bangalore, India — Wipro Technologies announced that Wipro’s Tarang of India and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Group will partner on providing localized testing and certification services in India. The agreement allows Wipro to provide compliance testing and certification services to companies developing products in India for international markets in diverse fields, such as information technology, medical, test and measurement, laboratory, industrial control equipment, etc.

In a typical product development cycle where the testing and certification is around 6-12 weeks; the Wipro-CSA collaboration will help product companies speed up the product testing and certification by 20-30 per cent, CSA says.

According to a United Nations Industrial Development Organization report entitled Yearbook of Industrial Statistics 2010, India is one of the top ten manufacturing economies in industrial production. The Wipro-CSA agreement minimizes the need for Indian customers to ship products elsewhere for compliance testing.

Wipro’s Tarang lab has been an NABL (ISO/IEC 17025) (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited facility for two years, equipped to perform various safety, mechanical, thermal, acoustic, reliability and electro-magnetic interference/ compatibility related testing and consultancy services. Wipro provides testing and certification services on a broad range of globally accepted product standards, including, IEC/EN, DO160, UL, FCC, CSA, SAE, JASO, ISO, MIL, ASTM and NEBS.
