Four-axis amplifier
Staff
General DPNGalil Motion Control has introduced the AMP-19540, a four-axis amplifier capable of driving up to four brush or brushless motors up to 500 W each. The amplifier can attach to the Galil DMC-18xx PCI bus, DMC-21x0 or Galil Optima controllers that use a 100-pin SCSI connector and cable.
The 6.8 x 8.75 x 1 in. unit is designed to sit outside of the PC, interfacing to the PCI bus motion controller with a single, 100-pin high density SCSI cable. The signals for each axis are extracted via through D-type connectors located on the amplifier. It features four transconductance PWM amplifiers, each capable of driving brush or brushless motors operating at 18 to 80 Vdc, up to 7 A continuous, 10 A peak. The gain setting is configured with jumpers, and the PWM switching frequency is 60 kHz.
