HOOPS Exchange integration provides direct access to more than 20 proprietary and open file formats.

Tech Soft 3D and netfabb announced that the latest version of netfabb Studio Professional is able to directly read files from all major CAD systems. Using Tech Soft 3D’s HOOPS Exchange, the additive manufacturing application can import more than 20 proprietary and standard 3D file formats, including CATIA V4/V5/V6; Autodesk Inventor; Parasolid; ProE / Creo Parametric; Siemens NX; Solid Edge; Solid Works; PRC; I-deas; IGES; STEP; JT; IFC; U3D; VRML; and VDA-FS .

According to the company, netfabb with HOOPS Exchange allows 3D printer operators to directly import the proprietary CAD data as if it were native, alleviating the need and potential problems involved in users converting data to STL format first.
