Alion Science and Technology, a technology solutions company based in Virginia, is increasing its Canadian business presence and expanding its Navy-focused design and engineering capabilities through Alion Canada. With an office in Ottawa, Alion’s growing focus centres around delivering naval architecture and marine engineering support to the Canadian Navy, Canadian Coast Guard, shipyards and integrators.

“Alion has had a long history of involvement in Canadian government programs, starting with the Canadian Patrol Frigate program and more recently with the Joint Support Ship program,” said Brett Johnson (Canadian Navy, Ret.), Alion Business Development Manager in the Engineering & Integration Solutions Sector.

“Alion is well positioned to assist the Government of Canada and Canadian industry on future programs supporting the evolving needs of the Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard.”

Johnson, who will drive Alion’s Canadian expansion, recently joined Alion after more than six years at Thales Naval, where he directed marketing and sales in Canada as well as managed business development for Canadian Naval programs. He served for 28 years in the Canadian Navy, where he worked as a Commanding Officer and Executive Officer at sea.
