Baldor Electric Company has appointed Myla Petree to the newly created position of Director – Strategic Program Management.

In this role, she and a recently formed team of project managers will be responsible for organizing, driving and successfully implementing key projects across a variety of Baldor locations and products, creating value for the company and its customers.

Petree joined Baldor in 2011 as the company’s Director of Quality. She and her team developed and submitted an application for a Baldrige-based quality award, which resulted in Baldor receiving the 2014 Arkansas Governor’s Quality Award for Performance Excellence, the highest level of recognition in the state. Before joining Baldor, Petree held positions in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Program Management in both the HVAC and automotive industries for Trane, Rheem and Borg Warner.

“Myla brings a unique skill set to our management team based on her knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, engineering and program management,” said Amy Lakin, executive vice president of Supply Chain. “Her experiences have well prepared her to create and lead a team that develops and executes key, strategic programs for Baldor.”

Petree has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence. She also serves on the board of directors for the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence.
