Attabotics partners with AltaML and Amii

Calgary-based Attabotics announced it will partner with AltaML, a Canadian applied AI/ML company, and the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) to develop artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that optimize the efficiency and productivity of Attabotics’ supply chain infrastructure.

Attabotics specializes in a novel warehousing concept. The company’s ant-like robots work in three dimensions, storing and retrieving items within a tall “high-rise” storage structure and delivering them to box packers on the structure’s outside perimeter. By replacing a standard warehouse’s sprawling two dimensional rows and aisles, the vertical storage structure reduces the space required for a typical fulfillment warehouse by 85 percent, the company says.

To support modern consumer behavior, shaped in part by the pandemic, Attabotics says it’s working with AltaML and Ammi to build advanced AI/ML capabilities, that will predictively optimize fulfillment and minimize downtime of its system by leveraging IoT data derived from modern cloud-based robotic operations.
