Omron Automation & Safety welcomes new president & COO

Omron Corporation’s Automation and Safety business in the Americas has welcomed Robert (Robb) Black to the position of president and COO on May 4, 2015.
Black has an extensive background in industrial automation and has held leadership positions at Honeywell, Turck and Rockwell Automation.

“Robb comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience from well-respected global automation companies,” said Nigel Blakeway, CEO, Omron Automation and Safety for the Americas.  

“He has built a great foundation as a leader in his previous roles in sales, marketing and product management.”
 
Black said, “I am very excited to be joining a company with such a rich history of innovation and passion for serving the needs of society, and I look forward to leading Omron Automation and Safety to the next level.

“Omron is already well positioned as an automation leader, and we continue to forge deeper customer relationships in markets where automation makes a significant, sustainable impact such as digital, automotive and packaging, among others.”

Prior to joining Omron, Black served as business director for Sensing and Connectivity at Rockwell Automation. Black earned his Master’s Degree in Management at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University.
