Festo’s CPX-AP-A remote I/O line offers backplane transmission rate up to 200 Mbps full duplex.

Festo introduced its CPX-AP-A, a line of distributed I/O where modules are attached within a terminal. That line joins the company’s existing decentralized I/O CPX-AP-I module line, designed to connect via cable at distances of up to 50 meters. Both AP (Automation Platform) module lines, whether on-terminal or individual, are IP65/67 rated and can be located in cabinets, in clusters around the cell, individually placed or separated. Every AP module features real-time backplane transmission rate of 200 Mbps full duplex. As part of Festo’s AP ecosystem, the modules allow all components, such as PLCs, valves, motors, drives, and I/O, to appear to the programmer to be incorporated within one smart terminal under a single IP address.
