Emerson announced its PACSystems IPC 2010, an industrial computer designed to handle machine and discrete part manufacturing automation applications. The IPC comes with the company’s PACEdge platform and elements of Movicon.NExT SCADA software. Running an industrial version of Linux, the IPC 2010 can be used as a communications gateway and simultaneously, or separately, as an edge computing device. Users can also implement the IPC 2010 as a protocol converter in IIoT, edge, OT/IT convergence, HMI visualization, SCADA connectivity and digital transformation roles. Passively cooled, the IPC features power consumption of four watts and ruggedized packaging.
