Clippard’s AIV Series air-piloted valves offers intrinsically-safe air operation.

Clippard unveiled its AIV series of air-piloted media isolation valves. The series features Clippard’s multi-functional valve stem design for longer life and minimal dead volume. In addition, it also provides air operation, which is – by definition – intrinsically-safe. The valve has a flow range of 10 to 180 l/min at 100 psig (6,9 Bar) and functions as 2-way normally-closed or normally-open or 3-way selector/diverter. It has a maximum pilot pressure of 72 psig (5 Bar) and a response time of 50 ms typical. Since valves in the line don’t have a solenoid means there is no heat build-up from a coil, making the AIV series appropriate for applications that utilize temperature-sensitive media. All wetted areas are PTFE and PEEK, making it suited for use with corrosive media.
