Miniature Encoder

Electromate announced it now offers Quantum Devices’ QM22 series of optical incremental encoders. Approximately the size of a US quarter, 22mm diameter, the miniature encoder series offers resolutions up to 2,048 cycles per revolution (CPR) or 8,192 counts per revolution when used with a x4 count quadrature decoder. It features a max operating frequency of 500 kHz (15,000 RPM), commutation accuracy (UVW) of ±2° mechanical and a patented lock-n-twist mechanism for installation. The series also features a fully encapsulated IP40-rated housing for challenging robotics and automation applications.
