Festo adds two larger variants to its EXCM series.

Festo has expanded its EXCM compact planar gantry series with two larger variants that are suited for sub-assembly functions that involve two- or three axis Cartesian motion. Both the EXCM-30 and EXCM-40 have scalable strokes along the X- and Y-axes, and are compatible with cleanroom applications. The EXCM-30 is designed for small parts assembly and handling applications. The unit features recirculating ball bearing guide and a Y-axis cover that protects against the ingress and discharge of particles. The EXCM-40 offers a working area up to 78 inches (2000mm) in the X direction and 39 inches (1000mm) in the Y direction. It also features a 48V power supply that handles loads up to 8.8 pounds (4kg). All EXCM gantries can be installed directly on a worktable without an external control cabinet. A single adapter plate fits all EXCM pneumatic and electric front ends. Options include multipole and compressed air connection for electric and pneumatic pick-and-place units.
