Volkswagen Canada unveiled its BlueMotion technology and confirmed that hybrid technology would be offered in Canada in the future.

Volkswagen will combine its TDI Clean Diesel technology with NOx-exhaust after treatment and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in its newest BlueMotion model: the Touareg TDI Clean Diesel, has a direct-injection turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 common rail Diesel engine producing 225 horsepower and a 407 lb-ft of torque mated to its 4XMotion permanent all-wheel drive system. This focus on sustainability is achieved by using two special types of BlueMotionTechnologies: a NOx storage catalyst and a SCR converter that work together to reduce harmful emissions. The new Touareg will start at $48,975 when it is launched in Canada this June.
