Canadian automation giant to integrate Stratford firm’s EPCM engineering capabilities.

Canada’s largest privately-owned custom automation supplier, Eclipse Automation, announced it has acquired controls and systems engineering firm, D&D Automation. The Stratford, Ontario-based company designs and integrates PLC control systems for robotics, industrial machinery, manufacturing lines, process environments and other automated facilities. According to Eclipse, the D&D acquisition brings a dynamic and complementing synergy to the company as it leverages D&D’s controls engineering capabilities.

“The D&D acquisition allows us to have a division that is truly focused on EPCM controls engineering and we look forward to new opportunities that will expand and strengthen our market offering,” said Steve Mai, president and CEO, Eclipse Automation. “The highly skilled workforce at D&D are an excellent fit to our existing talented pool of employees at Eclipse. Together, our capabilities and the client-centric values of both organizations will be a great benefit to our customers.”

“The entire D&D team is excited to join Eclipse,” said Michael McCourt, president of Eclipse Automation Stratford. “The Stratford division will continue to successfully lead the EPCM controls engineering market and unite our collaborative, high-performing and entrepreneurial environments.”
