As yet, the UBC team hasn’t finalized the design for the selector mechanism that prevents the inner and outer shells from rotating until the force is above the threshold level, but they don’t expect to have a working model in the near future. Cripton says having one in stores could be up to 10 years away as the prototype requires extensive testing to make sure it works flawlessly.
