netfabb web services offers free rapid prototyping prep

German company netfabb has rolled out netfabb Cloud Services, a free online service to assist with preping .stl files for rapid prototyping. With netfabb Cloud Services, users can upload STL files to the company’s servers for analysis and repair. The new service adds to the functionality offered by the company’s free desktop application, Studio Basic, by adding repair capabilities formerly only available in netfabb Studio Professional.

According to the company, the service can be used from any web browser running on any platform and any operating system, including Windows, Apple Mac OS and Linux. The file repair capabilities of netfabb Cloud are also available in an iPhone application (netfabb Mobile) that allows users to check and repair files from an iPhone.

netfabb Cloud Services is powered by netfabb Cloud Solutions, a server based business solution for automatic handling of large volumes of 3D data. It has been created to enhance the quality of repaired files, response time and quoting while reducing the amount of manual interaction. netfabb Cloud Solutions save time and money and allow for more than 95% of corrupt files to be repaired without any manual intervention.
