EOS’ M 300-4 1kW system features four 1-kilowatt lasers to maximize production of aluminum and copper parts.

At Formnext 2023, EOS launched its EOS M 300-4 1kW metal AM system. Designed for AlSi10Mg, copper and copper alloy build material, the unit features four 1-kilowatt lasers and a build volume of 300x300x400mm (11.8×11.8x 15.8in). It also boasts a build rate: 4 x 38.5 mm³/s = 154 mm³/s (555 cm³/h) and layer thickness down to 80 µm. According to the company, printed parts have minimum relative density of 99.5 %, tensile strength of 350 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa and elongation at break: 3-5%.

The EOS M 300-4 1kW can be further optimized with the Volkmann PowTrex EOS Edition powder handling system with a higher conveying and sieving rate than comparable material handling systems, the company says. EOS says the M 300-4 1kW system will be commercially available in February 2024.
