Automation Balluff IIOTBalluff’s BOS 21M series focuses on the IIOT market and includes four different sensor modes.
With the BOS 21M series, Balluff has introduced a optical multifunction smart sensor focused on the IIOT market. The versatile all-rounder lets you choose from four different sensor modes: background suppression, energetic diffuse, retroreflective or through-beam sensor. All sensor functions can be configured over IO-Link while the system is running, so the controller can initiate a remote teach-in. The sensor detects operating conditions, collects and processes more data than just the switching signal over IO-Link. Having prepared and pre-processed detection signals, reduces data volume and lightens the load on the system controller. The BOS 21 ADCAP is the first smart sensor to optically monitor the output of the emitter LED directly and to determine the “stress level” by means of the sensor interior temperature and the supply voltage.
