Beckhoff multi-core embedded PCs feature Intel’s latest single, dual or quad-core Atom CPUs.

15-Jan-Beckhoff-embedded-PC-625Beckhoff Automation’s unveiled its CX5100 series of embedded PC controllers, featuring Intel’s latest 22-nm Atom CPUs (‘Bay Trail’). The fanless, rail-mountable controllers are offered in three different processor and housing sizes: Single-core, 1.46 GHz (CX5120); dual-core, 1.75 GHz (CX5130); or quad-core, 1.91 GHz Atom CPU (CX5140). The basic interface equipment corresponds to that of the company’s CX5000 devices: Automatic recognition of K-Bus I/O or EtherCAT Terminals; two Gigabit-capable Ethernet interfaces; four USB 2.0 ports; a DVI-I interface and a “multi-option” interface that can be equipped to support a variety of fieldbus systems. The embedded PCs extended operating temperature ranges from -25 to +60 °C.
